German supermarket chain Lidl, the first nationwide retailer in Ireland, has announced plans to create 750 new jobs to its Irish operations this year.
The jobs will be in different categories like, operational and office-based positions across 214 store locations, four regional distribution centres and its Dublin head office, adding to the team of 6,100 in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Lidl has also confirmed pay increases worth around £1.5 million in recognition of the efforts of its workforce throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The pay increase will come into effect on 1st March.
Lidl said the new roles are being created to support its growing footprint of stores nationwide, which will see the retailer run 17 property projects in this financial year.
The company said successful candidates will be offered Lidl’s benefits packages and learning and development opportunities within the business.
