An assault that occurred on Wednesday evening in Carrigaline, County Cork, left a 29-year-old man in critical condition.
The incident happened at Glenwood Estate at about 5.45 o’clock.
The injured man was reportedly involved in an altercation with at least two other people, during which he sustained a serious head injury. Garda are still trying to figure out what happened.
He was taken urgently to Cork University Hospital. The scene is currently being preserved for technical analysis, and investigations are still ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward and for any person with camera footage to make it available to them.
