Mayor Denis O’Callaghan To Inaugurate Malayalam Classes In Ireland

Dublin: In an exciting development, the Malayalam mission classes, spearheaded by the Blackrock Syro Malabar Church, are set to kick off this Saturday. Mayor Denis O’Callaghan of Dún Laoghaire and Rathdown City Council will officiate the Induction Festival on October 14th at the Newtown Park Pastoral Centre, welcoming children who have enrolled in Malayalam classes.

The event’s keynote address will be delivered by Malayalam Mission Director Kavi Murugan Kattakada, while Syro Malabar Sabha Ireland National Coordinator Rev. Fr. Joseph Mathew will offer a blessing speech at Oliakkat. The organizers have confirmed the completion of preparations for Faith Fiesta 2023, a grand celebration marking Catechism Day and the commencement of Malayalam mission classes.

This initiative, registered under the Department of Culture, Government of Kerala, boasts more than 30 children and 11 trained teachers, with the primary goal of imparting Malayalam language and culture to the children of non-resident Malayalis.

A dedicated 19-member regional committee, led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Mathew Oliakattil as patron, Adv CB chief coordinator Anish V. Cherian as president, and Binu Joseph as general secretary, oversees the Malayalam mission classes. Those interested in contributing to the teaching of Malayalam to children still have an opportunity to register.

The organizers extend a warm invitation to all to attend the entrance festival for Malayalam classes this Saturday. For additional information, please contact: 0894433676, 0892606282, 0870558898.
