Met Eireann expects scorching 20C heat today

As one of the warmest days of the year so far, Dublin will scorch in 20 degree heat today.

But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as Met Eireann has issued a warning of heavy and thundery rains that pose a danger of spot flooding.

Two weather alerts are also in effect today for different sections of the nation.

In Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow, and Tipperary, a Status Yellow warning is in effect from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. today.

Spot floods and dangerous traffic conditions have been warned of by Met Eireann.

Showers will become isolated tonight as clear spells form. Around 8 or 9 degrees will be the lowest temperature, and some mist patches are anticipated.

Similar weather is forecast for tomorrow, including bright intervals and showers with the possibility of thunder. The peak temperatures are expected to be between 14 and 16 degrees.
