Over 7,000 Indians take part in MIND Mega Mela celebrations in Ireland

The MIND Mega Mela, with the slogan ‘The Great Indian Festival’, was a celebration specifically for Indians, embracing all Indians—including Malayalees—from every corner of Ireland.

The Mega Mela attracted more than 7,000 Indians, and the festival won the hearts of the public with its extraordinary participation and excellent organisation.

South Indian film star Honey Rose and Fingal Mayor Councilor Howard Mahoney officially opened the Grand Ceremony on June 3 at the Asala Centre, Dublin.

Irish ministers Jack Chambers and Thomas Byrne were the chief guests. Councillor Punam Rane, TD Paul McAuliffe, and many of Ireland’s leading citizens and political and cultural leaders participated in this celebration, which was truly a fresh experience for Europe.

The Mind Mega Mela turned out to be a fantastic day for the Indians with a variety of sports events, including a thrilling tug-of-war amongst Irish Indians, a fascinating dance and music feast, and more than 35 food and retail booths.

A fascinating fashion show was also held in conjunction with the event. A book fair was also organized in connection with the celebration.

Malayali Indians (MIND)—the festival organisers attributed the success of the fest to the generous efforts of its sponsors, various associations, dance schools, and the entire Indian community in Ireland.
