Irish Rail warns customers to expect ‘significant delays’ on services after signalling issue

Irish Rail warned customers to expect considerable delays on some routes this afternoon as it works to address a “major signalling issue.”

The signalling issue previously caused all routes to and from Dublin’s Connolly Station, including all DART trains, to be halted from roughly 2.10 to 3.10 p.m.

The transport network said that the fault has since been resolved and DART services, as well as services from Connolly, have resumed.

Newbridge/Hazelhatch to Grand Canal Dock services have also resumed.

Irish Rail said there will be significant delays on DART services (Howth/Malahide to Greystones), as well as Connolly to Maynooth, Sligo, Dundalk and Greystones.

Additionally, there will be delays on the Northern Commuter, Phoenix Park Tunnel, Maynooth Commuter, Sligo, and Belfast Intercity trains.

It added that some Northern Commuter trains may also anticipate delays of around 30 minutes, while some Maynooth Commuter routes can anticipate delays of about 25 minutes.

On some DART trains as well as M3 Parkway services, there are delays of around 20 minutes.

“Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused,” the statement concluded.
