Penneys to make Wicklow Debut with New Bray Store

Penneys, the popular Irish retailer, is set to open its first-ever store in County Wicklow this summer. According to RTE report, the new shop, located in Bray Central shopping centre, will welcome customers starting July 18th.

Spanning 19,600 square feet, this single-floor store marks a significant milestone for Penneys, expanding its presence to 38 locations across 21 Irish counties. Fintan Costello, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland, expressed excitement about entering a new county.

The Bray opening is part of Penneys’ €250 million investment plan in Ireland over ten years, focusing on store development and renovations. Internationally known as Primark, the company operates over 440 stores throughout Europe and the US.

This expansion aligns with Primark’s ambitious goal to reach 530 stores globally by 2026. The retailer recently entered its 17th market with a store in Budapest, Hungary.

As Penneys celebrates 55 years since opening its first Dublin store, the Wicklow launch demonstrates the brand’s continued growth and popularity among Irish shoppers.
