Revolut rolls out new point-of-sale payment device for Irish businesses

Fintech firm Revolut has launched a new point-of-sale (POS) terminal in Ireland, designed to help its business customers accept in-person payments.

The move is aimed at expanding Revolut’s footprint in the competitive market of payment solutions, where it will compete with established players like Square, Shopify, and SumUp.

The new terminal is part of Revolut’s strategy to strengthen its business offering, particularly in the hospitality and retail sectors.

Alex Codina, General Manager of Merchant Acquiring at Revolut, highlighted the company’s commitment to investing in its B2B services to gain market share in the corporate banking space.

The device is equipped with integrated Wi-Fi and SIM connectivity, and Revolut claims that its battery life can last all day.

One of the key features of the Revolut Terminal is its quick fund transfer capability, with claims that business owners can access their money within 24 hours of a transaction.

In addition to standard payments, Revolut customers can pay directly from their app, earning loyalty points in the process.
