The Taliban show real face; 3 protestors shot dead, women beaten up in Afghanistan

The Taliban are showing their real face just after their hopeful statement that the women will be given freedom and no vengeance will be taken against former government supporters. On Wednesday, the Taliban terrorists shot fires at protestors in Jalalabad, a city nearer to Pakistan border and about 150km away from the capital city of Kabul.

Many protestors brought down the Taliban flag in Jalalabad city and raised Afghanistan national flag to show their support towards the former government. In response, the Taliban shot at the protestors and at least 3 of them have been killed, international news agencies report. The journalists came here to report the incident were also attacked by the militants. The video of firing incident is circulating on social media.

Earlier this week, the Taliban leaders had said that no act of vengeance would be taken against former government supporters who resisted the Taliban ruling. They had also promised that the women rights would not be compromised. But soon after the announcement, it is reported that the Taliban fighters are on the streets in search of former government supporters. There are also reports that a woman has been shot dead after coming out in the public place without covering her head. Some other women were also beaten up for the same reason.

Following the reports, huge concerns are there about the Taliban keeping their word. If they bring back the barbarian ruling and move against their promises, the country might become home for many terrorist organisations including Al-Qaida.

Yesterday the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai met with the Taliban leader Anas Haqqani to discuss on the formation of a new government. The Taliban had earlier announced that people from former government would be part of the new government along with the Taliban representatives.

Meanwhile hundreds of people are still reaching the airport in Kabul to flee from the country. Though the militants have said they would maintain security, the recent events are not at all hopeful. There are reports that at least 17 injured after the heavy congestion in front of the airport. People are trying to escape the country even without passport amid the fear of returning draconian Taliban ruling.
