Three sisters die after violent incident in Tallaght

Three sisters have died in a tragic incident in Tallaght in Dublin 24. A young man in his early 20s has been arrested.

In Tallaght’s Rossfield Estate, a violent incident was reported to the garda at around 12.30 am on Sunday.

Three sisters, two kids, and an adult teenager were transported by Ambulance to Crumlin hospital, where all three were subsequently confirmed to have died.

A male teenager was transported with severe but not life-threatening injuries to Tallaght Hospital.

A man in his early 20s was detained at the site after an intervention by armed garda that involved the discharge of non-lethal weapons.

In accordance with Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984, the man is presently being held in the Tallaght Garda Station.

The mother of the children, who was not injured at the scene, was also taken to Crumlin hospital and is currently receiving medical treatment.

All persons involved in the incident are believed to be known to each other. Gardaí said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

The scene in Rossfield Estate remains sealed off and a forensic examination will begin later on Sunday by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí in Tallaght established an incident room and said all circumstances of the incident were being investigated.
