British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says more NHS hospital trusts declaring critical incidents as UK reports 218,724 new cases. This is the first time daily cases surpass 200,000 mark since the beginning of pandemic.
Around 100,000 critical workers are set to take daily Covid tests in order to reduce the spread of the virus to colleagues, he said in a press conference. It will be for key industries including food processing, transport and the border force, the prime minister said at a Downing Street briefing.
