United States lifts travel ban for fully vaccinated from countries including Ireland and India

Fully vaccinated people from Europe including Ireland will be allowed to enter to the United States from Monday, it was confirmed. This is the first time US authorities allow two-way travel since the start of the pandemic.

Earlier European counties had put pressure on the US to ease the restrictions as many family members were unable to meet their loved ones in the US because of the travel ban. But the US government was continuing strict ban for almost two years. Only US citizens were allowed to enter to the country during these months.

There are many people in counties like Ireland, India and UK where family members are in the US. They were devastated after unable to attend for weddings, funerals and for visiting relatives who are ill. Also many people who work in the US and came on vacation couldn’t return as the pandemic emerged.

From Monday, people can travel to the US with the proof of vaccination along with a negative PCR test result. Apart from Europe, people from India, China and South Africa can enter to the country if they are fully vaccinated. People who have been recovered from Covid in past three months can also enter.
