Gardaí are investigating all circumstances following the discovery of two bodies in Cloneen, Co.Tipperary.
The bodies of an elderly man and elderly woman were discovered at a domestic residence earlier on Monday afternoon.
The Garda Technical Bureau examined the scene on Monday evening.
The scene was preserved throughout Tuesday for further examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The bodies were removed from the Co Tipperary house where they were found on Monday.
Post-mortem examinations took place on Tuesday.
Gardaí said they are investigating “all circumstances”.
Locals told gardaí they thought the elderly man and woman, both aged in their late 70s, and originally from England, had moved away from Ireland during the pandemic.
Some locals have told officers that the couple had not been seen in the locality since 2020.
A garda source said that there were no initial indications that foul play was involved in the deaths.
Clonmel gardaí are leading the investigation and have appealed for anyone with information on the last known movements of the couple to contact them.
