Florence Pugh flying to Dublin next week for Irish movie premiere

Englis actress Florence Pugh will be in Dublin next week for the premiere of her new Netflix film “The Wonder.”

The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ actress plays the lead in this new Irish production based on Emma Donoghue’s novel. The premiere will take place on October 26 at Smithfield’s Lighthouse Cinema, one week before the film’s Irish release.

Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, and Kila Lord Cassidy will be among Florence’s Irish co-stars. The film was shot entirely in Ireland and is set in the Midlands.

Florence’s character, Lib Wright, is an English nurse who is dispatched to study a medical wonder in the Irish countryside. An 11-year-old native has gone four months without food or drink, claiming she survives only on God’s faith. While tourists swarm to the area in search of the girl, Lib suspects that darker forces are at play.

‘The Wonder’ was written in 2016 by Emma Donoghue, the bestselling author of ‘Room.’ She is a script co-writer and will be in attendance at the premiere.

Florence has received critical acclaim for her performance in the controversial play ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ in which she co-starred with male lead Harry Styles. The English actress previously received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in ‘Little Women.’

‘The Wonder’ has gained critical acclaim since its recent screenings at a number of international film festivals. It will be released in select theatres on November 2 and will be available globally on Netflix beginning November 16.
