Gardaí have issued an appeal after two men were killed in crashes in Dublin yesterday.
The two male pedestrians, who were in their 20s and 40s, were killed in Tallaght and the north inner city after being hit by cars.
Around 7 o’clock in the evening, garda and emergency services arrived in Dublin 1 at the scene of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Summerhill Parade.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, was taken from the scene to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A short while later, at around 7:15 o’clock, Tallaght emergency services were called to the scene of another collision.
A young man was involved in the incident after he was hit by an SUV on the N81. At the scene, the 23-year-old pedestrian was declared dead.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman in her 40s, did not require hospital treatment.
Anyone with information relating to either of the crashes is being asked to come forward, particularly those with camera (dash cam) footage.
Those with information connected to the collision in Tallaght are asked to contact Tallaght Garda station of 01-666 6000, while anyone with information on the Summerhill incident can contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01-666 8400.
