India advanced to the T20 World Cup semifinals on Monday by defeating Ireland by a score of 5 runs using the Duckworth Lewis system. Rain had already stopped the game as the players left and the covers were put on. In the end, the match was called off, and Ireland finished the World Cup without a victory.
Smriti Mandhana scored a career-high 87 runs on Monday as India defeated Ireland by a score of 155/6.
The opener guided India to a consistent powerplay with Shafali Verma, hitting 42/0 in 6 overs. Later, after Verma was out in the 10th over, the southpaw put up a 50-run stand with captain Harmanpreet Kaur that significantly aided India in reaching a respectable total.
Kaur had earlier choose to bat first after winning the toss.
