India’s 73rd Republic Day Celebrations in Ireland by CICI

India’s 73rd Republic Day programs were virtually conducted in style by the CICI – Confederation of Indian Communities Ireland. The chief guest of this program was His Excellency Honourable Indian Ambassador, Akhilesh Mishra.

This virtual event was anchored by Bindu Nair. There were a lot of programs organized by different dance and music schools. Dharmendra Bollywood Dance Group, Kannada Kali, were some of the dance groups performing.

There were a lot of individual performances. Some of them were, Sangamitra Saniyal with a beautiful patriotic song, a beautiful duo with Sovann on the keyboard and Sayant as the voice. Shreema Rani Dass performed a Matruvandana devotional song while playing the piano, Sarayu performed a Kuchupudi dance about devotion to Lord Venkatesh.

There were lots of performances by children representing cultures, religions, and states of India. Speeches by the heads of various communities that are a part of CICI, where they mentioned the work that they have planned for this year was something to be noted. Eyogi Gurukul, Ireland‘s Telugu Association, Kannada Kali were a few that gave these speeches. There was a virtual quiz competition with cash vouchers as well.

Aditya Joshi and Aditya Kumar won the Student of the Year award given by CICI. They had won the BT young scientist 2022 in the category of Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Sciences under the project title of, “A New Method of Solving the Bernoulli Quadrisection Problem”. Aditya Joshi and Aditya Kumar, not just won this trophy but also will represent Ireland at a European level. They brought a new focus to a maths problem that was unsolved since 1687.
