Car theft warning to Meath residents after several cars stolen in mere hours

Residents of a Meath village have been urged to be vigilant after several cars were stolen in a short period of time.

In the three and a half hours from Sunday night to Monday morning, car thieves targeted a number of Laytown neighbourhoods.

Between 9 p.m. on October 30 and 12.30 a.m. on October 31, four cars were stolen from Laytown’s Corballis, Coney Hall, and The Woods Inse Bay neighbourhoods.

A garda spokesman confirmed that three of the cars had been recovered. He went on to say that no arrests had been made in connection with the thefts.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses as part of investigations into the string of thefts. A spokesperson said: “Anybody who may have noticed anything suspicious in any of these areas during this time are asked to please contact Laytown Garda Station on 041-9813320, Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-8010600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
