More passengers fly into Dublin Airport even though the State had imposed mandatory hotel quarantine

An increase of over 600 passengers has been recorded in the Dublin Airport even the State has imposed mandatory hotel quarantine for incoming passengers coming from 71 red-listed countries by the Irish Government. 10,700 passengers arrived at the airport last week. The number of foreign residents who arrive at Dublin Airport also increased by 11 percent.

The mandatory hotel quarantine system had faced many criticisms already, saying that they treats the incoming passengers with a discriminatory approach. The state can successfully implement home quarantine which is followed in all other member states under the EU.

The department of health had announced that people who come to Ireland for emergency medical reasons would br exempted from the mandatory quarantine. If the child is in a medical emergency, their parents and siblings will also get exempted
