Newest train station in Ireland starts operation today in Dublin

The newest train station in Ireland will be opened to the public today in north Dublin. Pelletstown Station is situated between Ashtown and Broombridge stations on the Dublin to Maynooth-M3 Parkway line. Travellers from Ashington and Royal Canal Park in Dublin 7 can conveniently use use the new station to catch their trains.

The construction of the station was announced in 2018 and was a long-pending need of the locals. The travel time of trains from Pelletstown Station to the city centre will be just 12 minutes from now on and 94 trains will be in service on weekdays.

Along with the station footbridges, pedestrian and cycle paths have also been built. Bicycle and car parking are also available at the station.

Irish Rail has advised rail passengers using the Dublin to Maynooth line that there will be minor alterations to some services from Sunday onwards because of the opening of the new station. There are also some changes in departure timings of some trains and passengers are advised to check with the Irish Rail website.
