Three suspected members of notorious burglary gang arrested after high speed Dublin chase

Following a terrifying chase with  gardaí in south Dublin, three suspected members of a notorious burglary gang have been captured and are now in garda custody.

Today around noon, the Garda informed of an attempted break-in at a residence in Ballinteer, south Dublin.

In connection with other recent burglaries in south Dublin and Co. Meath, officers discovered that the car used in the break-in was one that was wanted.

The car is a powerful Audi that has been seen with multiple fake number plates, including one that blatantly belongs to a garda vehicle.

The car then accelerated out of the Ballinteer area and onto the M50, where it was chased for around 10 minutes by several garda cars.

Numerous incidents of dangerous driving occurred on the highway and continued after the offenders turned off the motorway at the Tallaght exit.

The pursuit proceeded into Tallaght’s Glenview area.

The criminals left their car shortly after that, but were quickly arrested following a short foot pursuit.

Senior sources have called the extraordinary arrest operation, which involved the garda air support and dog unit, “highly significant.”

This afternoon, the three suspects are being questioned at garda stations in south Dublin.
