Gardaí arrest man, after body found in Dublin apartment

A man has been arrested after the body of a man in his late 20s was discovered at an apartment in north Dublin.

On Achill Road in Drumcondra, the body was found in an apartment last evening.

His body is still at the scene and is being kept for forensic and technical investigations.

A post-mortem investigation will be performed after notifying the State Pathologist.

Gardaí also sealed off the second scene in Griffith Park, where two-foot bridges were closed for a time this morning.

Members of the Garda Water Unit carried out searches of a stretch of water within the park.

The cordon on that area has now been removed.

A 30-year-old male has been arrested and is being questioned in a garda station in north Dublin. He can be held for up to seven days.

An incident room has been established at Ballymun Garda Station.
