In a rain-affected Super 12 match in Adelaide on Wednesday, India defeated Bangladesh by five runs (DLS method) in the Cricket T20 World Cup 2022. With this result, Team India move to the top of Group 2 with six points from four games.
The match started with Bangladesh inviting India to bat first. Virat Kohli made an unbeaten 64 to maintain his red-hot form and KL Rahul (50) ended his run drought as they fired India to a commanding 184/6 at the Adelaide Oval.
Rain disrupted Bangladesh’s impressive start to their innings. Litton Das was on fire against India, scoring 60 runs in just 27 balls.
Bangladesh appeared to be on track to meet a revised target of 151 in 16 overs after a rain delay, with Litton Das leading the way, but his exit unsettled his side, who finished on 145/6.
India now leads the points table with 6 points, while South Africa is second with 5 points. With this victory, India has almost completed its entry into the World Cup semi-finals, with only one match remaining against Zimbabwe on November 6th.
